My name is Ali Saklaoui. I’m a third year student, pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical & Computer Engineering at the American University of Beirut. I’m interested in renewable energy, Internet of things(IoT) and artificial intelligence. One of the main reasons I chose my major is, in addition to being a technology enthusiast, the fact that fossil fuels resources are running out hence challenging us to find green & sustainable energy sources, which encouraged me to be a part of building a ‘cleaner’ future.

My hobbies include running long distances, hiking and traveling. I am highly interested in the electric cars industry, with Tesla being the company that i always keep an eye on given the amount of innovation that has come out of its factories.

As I’m getting closer to graduate, I’m planning to pursue a Master’s Degree in Business Administration to develop managerial skills, preferably abroad as I would like to explore different cultures & communities.

Although I have learned different computing technologies and programming tools , I consider Digital Humanities to be the missing piece in my curriculum. Throughout my blogs, I will write about my journey in the course by demonstrating the new digital tools that I will learn and reflect my experience in the digital world.
